The Christmas Mystery

Image
Author's note: This story was written for my mom as a gift for Christmas 2024. Merry Christmas mom!!! :) 1 Feeling Strange on the Range Lilith was sitting in her living room. The fire flickered cheerfully in the fireplace, and her little orange Tabby cat, Bobalina, was purring on a chair next to the table. It was the day before Christmas, 2047. The Christmas lights were blinking on and off just outside the window. Although everything seemed quite calm inside her house, Lilith felt a sense of unease and disquiet which made her feel uncomfortable despite all the tidings of Christmas cheer which filled her house–fake snow upon the bookshelves, tinsel on the Christmas tree which was in front of the mantelpiece, the cup of hot cocoa around which her hands were clasped, her cat dressed in a Mrs. Claus outfit. I Rewatched Anora and This is My Update

1 I Rewatched Anora I rewatched Anora because someone posted a link on x (hopefully this  link  still works when I post this), and I wanted to rewatch it because I fell asleep halfway through the movie the first time I watched it, as I detailed  here . Damn, I watched it more than a month ago. Time goes by fast.  Anyways, I rewatched it because I saw the link and I feel like my first review wasn't fair. "It has AI, that is, Artificial Intelligence, installed in it."  His dad talked to his child like that because he was a professor at the local university, and not just any professor, but a computer science professor. The details of his appearance aren't important, but just for sake of fashion's progeny, he wore prescription aviator glasses and dressed like an inverse of Steve Jobs, wearing a white turtleneck and khaki chinos every day. Anyways, all that is not important.  It was a typical MacBook circa 2008, sleek and stark white, except the year was 2042, and the AI had gotten quite advanced. The little boy was excited to try it, and tore the packaging off the MacBook.  "Hello," said the AI in a friendly male voice. "It's very nice to meet you. What is your name?" And the boy told him his name. Since it was Christmas, he...
